Honeymoon--better late than never!

This was our "better late that never honeymoon". It was a blast and everything I'd ever hoped for!

We started off by making our way to Kanab. I think every one of the in-laws has come to love Kanab just as much as we do. Maybe it's the amazing 4-wheeling trips and dutch oven cooking that warms them up to it.

We took Mike to Peek-a-boo Trail, a classic from our family rides growing up.

After a cookout with some cousins and a much needed nights sleep we took of to Vegas!

I was a little worried about going to Vegas since we'd spent a bit already on our Disneyland plans but we did a lot of research and found a way to have a ton of fun without spending a lot. Check out the great ideas here.

On we were to California. The drive may have been my favorite part. I did fall asleep a lot but the rest of the time was filled with great conversation. I fell more in love with Mike every second. :)

We checked into our great condo and had fun relaxing in the hot tub. We headed to downtown Disney for some great eats and to stretch our legs.

Tuesday through Thursday were filled with the parks! It was a blast!

We ran all over the place the first day. It was nuts! The lines we NOT long at all. We walked right into a lot of them and others we only waited for about 10 min. Compared to 1.5 hours during peak season/days we were very pleased!

We had a meal in the park once a day but other than that we either packed food or went back to the condo to make food. This really helped us cut back on expenses.

Having the Disney Photo Pass people take pics is a great idea. It made it so we didn't have to keep pulling out our big camera every time. Plus they have AMAZING cameras and know how to stage the bast shots!

Day 2 we hit all of our favorites again.  I think we went on Splash Mountain a million times. It was easily our favorite.

Day 3 was full of tired feet and lots of wondering around. When you don't have kids it's fairly easy to do everything you want in 2 days. So we just went on Splash Mountain a couple of more times :) and sat down to do some good old people watching. Mike loved pointing out every child that was not having a good time and the happiest place on earth.

I think my favorite thing (that wasn't a ride) was walking around a building on Main Street that was dedicated to Walt Disney's dream. We got to learn about his creative process and the history of Disneyland.

These is my favorite quotes: (I realized after writing this how much of a nerd I really am!)

"To all that come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America... with hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world."

"I first saw the site for Disneyland back in 1953, In those days it was all flat land - no rivers, no mountains, no castles or rocket ships - just orange groves, and a few acres of walnut trees."
"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."

I wish I could spend one day with that man. I envy the people who would show up for work early and see him walking around the park, in the dark with imagination in his eye. He had an apartment in the park, just above the fire station where he could stay. There is always a candle lit in that window to remind people that the imagination Walt Disney had it still there and can be had by all!

Blog Neglection

I know I've been super bad about posting over here but if you want to see what I've been up to, check out Just 2 Bird

For a bit of an update this beginning of spring has been a little crazy around here.

School is finishing up for both of us so classes are really hectic! I think we're both managing ok but we just want it to be done!! Mainly I want this to be done because we are heading to DISNEYLAND right after finals!

Doesn't that look fun!

Mike has been heavily into Spring football practices which are super tiring and this season there were tons of injuries! Scary! Mike kept under the radar for the most part as far as bodily harm goes.
Since so many guys we out he got a lot of playing time and exposure which was great! I love seeing him mentioned in the papers.
I love going to practice and watching him play!

 Look at that man!!

We just went to conference this weekend and had a great time. We checked out the new City Creek Center. There was just a lot of things we will never be able to afford. :)

The last day of the March Mustache!

Beautiful!!

Between sessions we had a little picnic at the truck!

Once we are done with the disaster of finals we will be moving and heading to Disneyland. Yes both of those in the same time frame!
It's going to be very hectic and I'm not sure if I'm ready!
We found a great place with an extra bedroom and a washer and dryer! We are so excited.
Natalie is planning on coming to help me out after we get back from Disneyland to finish up our move. So grateful for her sweet family and I can't wait to play with her little girl, Kennedy.

The end of winter semester has been a lot of fun! I just want to be in SPRINGTIME!

Valentine's Day

This was our first V-day as a wonderfully married couple! It was great and I got into the spirit by making this little wall hanging!

A little burlap, a wooden frame that I painted black and some felt! Super Easy!

My Valentine!

Mike definitely knows how to take care of his wife! He did so great for V-Day this year! We went to the Skyroom on campus for lunch which was really good!

He surprised me with a dozen roses at work and then swept me off to dinner.

We then went to ColdStone for my absolute favorite ice cream!

Mike spent most of the afternoon decorating out bedroom with rose petals, candles and amazing  scents! It was so romantic and beautiful!
We had a great time together and fell more and more in love! :)

Camping... Kinda

Mike and I have been wanting to go camping for months. Our ward even had a camping trip the week after we got married but we were in Texas for our open house.
Of course Provo right now has a little too cold of weather for camping so we are making our own way.
Camping indoors!

We set up our little two man tent and it was so warm. The windows were open and the fan on to try and make it colder. Like REAL camping!

Foil dinners are the greatest and essential to any camping adventure!

Check out this Smores set up. Perfect? Yes!

Basically we had a blast together. Sleeping in the tent was so fun and what a cheap date night! :)

Bowl Game

We had an amazing time in Texas for the Armed Forces Bowl!

I think we had lunch with the Folsom's everyday, they are the greatest!

We even got box sets at a Mavs game.

Mike's family was at the game with us and it was a blast!

We all loved every bit of the game. This is Mike screaming after the first touchdown.

Isn't he the hottest man ever? Especially in those pants!

I think this was the cutest girl there! Millie loved every second of the game!

Like I said, we were lucky to be in Texas where Mike's from so instead of heading back to Provo with the team, we stayed and played with family for a few more days!
I got to experience Babe's chicken which was to die for! We are definitely going there again!

We had to leave a little earlier than we planned because we DROVE back to Provo in the TRUCK!
Needless to say I was so excited about that!

It was an amazing vacation and we were only sad it was too short! :( Happy Bowl Game Y'all!

Christmas Time

I absolutely LOVE Christmas and all that it entails: hot cocoa, wreaths, candy canes, music, decorations, a tree, etc.
Mike doesn't love cocoa unless he's freezing and unless you've been to the Glover house in winter you have no idea what real hot chocolate is. It may have your daily allotment (or two) of calories but it's amazing! A Christmas tradition that will always have Mom written all over it. It warms your soul and makes you feel like your already snuggled next to a warm fire.

I made my own wreath this year. It may have been pinterest inspired but I still kinda did my own thing! However, thanks to a phone death I lost my cute picture of it.  :(

A woman at work was always throwing candy canes onto my desk. I had a ton this year. She also fulfilled my music intake. I think she started Christmas tunes before Halloween. It was great. She gave me a copy of the Buble Christmas album, YES!

I had an awesome time decorating our little place. Mom sent me a few things to get me started which had to include a snowman! Our tree was so cute, the perfect size for our apartment. We went hunting for the perfect one with our friends and neighbors, the Riggs!

Now for most people Christmas means a couple of weeks off school and work and getting to be with family and friends for MANY days. YAY!! We had a great break from school and saw some friends from the team but other than that, no such luck.
Because the bowl game was Dec. 30 we had to stay in Provo for practice until the 23rd. We left as soon as we could to Texas to be with Mike's family.

It was great, relaxing and just tons of fun... for 2 days. Christmas was great!

We had to report to the team hotel on the 26th. Kinda tough to have Christmas break in 2 days but we made the most of it!
